This whole page is about me! 💁

Hi there, I'm Rotem :)
I live in Givatayim, Israel.
I have 2 dogs named Kof (in Hebrew: monkey) and Boten (peanut).
I've always liked arts, craft and making things, and I took this passion forward in various ways.

My journey began when I studied landscape architecture* in the Technion. In my studies I especially enjoyed the combination between planning, engineering, and design.

After completing my B.La I worked in a landscape architecture studio in Haifa, and you can see some of my works laid out in parks and neighborhoods around Israel.

After moving to Jerusalem, I had a chance to pursue a passion of mine, and I attended a course to study sewing and patternmaking. I enjoyed it mainly because it gave me the chance to design and engineer a garment - I drew the pattern according to which the garment was cut and sewn. For my final project, I designed and executed an eveningwear collection, through which I gained a great deal of experience in planning, designing, and implementing a design project from scratch.

The patternmaking course was another step in my journey to realize my passion for creating and engineering new things, and my next job was the perfect fit for the next step: the Microsoft's Garage. The Garage is Microsoft's innovation lab. It's a making lab with all the equipment a maker could dream of - Laser cutter, 3D printers, CNC, woodworking machinery and so on.

I managed the lab and conducted workshops for Microsoft's employees, allowing me to gain more hands-on experience in designing and implementation. The Garage was also engaged in various collaboration with companies and NPOs involved with Microsoft. In one of said projects, I had the chance to design an app for Sheba hospital, and that is when I found my true passion to user experience design.

Although I considered shifting to user experience design since my second year in the Technion, I finally had the chance to experience it hands-on and find out how truly fascinating it is and how well it aligns with my own skills and interests. So, one year ago I decided to take the leap, and volunteered to be the UX/UI designer of the NPO “For the Wildlife”, designing their internal system for managing the veterinary clinic.

Now, I am looking for the chance to take my dream one step further and find a full time job in the field of UX/UI design.
